UPDATE — COMBINED REPORTING FROM PLACER AND NEVADA COUNTIES, NOVEMBER 4, 12:46 A.M. PT. Decision Desk HQ displays 5,627 Yes votes (71.78%) and 2,212 No votes (28.22%) for Tahoe–Truckee Unified School District Measure P, with 3,324 votes attributed to Placer and 4,515 to Nevada County. The separate Placer-only report below recorded 2,404 Yes and 920 No. El Dorado County appears with zero reported votes in the combined tracker, so do not call this a fully verified three-county final result. The measure needs two-thirds Yes approval and all totals remain unofficial pending the canvass and certification. Source: DDHQ, dated November 4 at 3:46 a.m. Eastern / 12:46 a.m. Pacific.

EARLIER PLACER-ONLY SNAPSHOT.

TAHOE TRUCKEE, California — November 4, 2026. Measure P shows 2,404 Yes votes and 920 No votes in Placer County’s semi-official election-night report. The measure’s actual approval standard matters, and the count is not certified.

Votes and legal threshold

Yes: 2,404 (72.32%). No: 920 (27.68%). The difference is 1,484 votes. The official ballot identifies the adoption threshold as two-thirds Yes.

What the proposal would change

The school district parcel-tax proposal would renew an expiring $148 annual levy with a $40 increase for nine years, with exemptions for eligible seniors and inflation adjustments, to support academic and career programs and teaching staff. The district spans Placer, Nevada and El Dorado counties.

What remains unresolved

The published 72.32% is the Placer County subtotal only. Districtwide support and passage require combining other counties’ tallies and certification. The Placer report was printed November 4, 2026, 12:16 a.m. Pacific. It covers election-night precinct returns but not necessarily every eligible ballot. This article is a dated record of the county’s early results, not a newly confirmed November 5 posting.
